System upgrade • New website
Avista Credit Union is upgrading our core processing system and website this spring – and these refreshing changes are exciting for all of us! We’ll be introducing new services that greatly improve your banking experience.

When are you upgrading your core system and launching your new website?
Our upgrade will begin after 4:00 p.m. on February 26, 2021, and continue through March 1st. Please note that Avista Credit Union will be closed on March 1st. Also, some services will be temporarily unavailable during the upgrade period. (See more details on this below.) We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience to you.
Why are you doing these upgrades to your system and website?
Your banking experience is important to us, and this technology upgrade is necessary in order to provide you with the highest level of service and convenience possible. As part of this upgrade, Avista Credit Union is enhancing online and mobile banking to offer you real-time transactions, remote check deposit, and much more – ensuring that we provide all the advantages of a big financial institution with the personalized service you expect and deserve from your Avista Credit Union.
Will the website address change?
No, our website address will still be www.avistacu.com. However, it will look like a new website once you get there! We’re updating our site with a fresh new design to make it more user-friendly and to help you find what you need quickly. The new site will also adapt screen views to the device you’re using – from laptop to tablet to smartphone. Note that if you have saved your login screen to your “Favorites,” you will need to delete and then add our new login screen to your ”Favorites” once the upgrade has occurred.
During the upgrade, will I still be able to access my accounts?
Account access will be available during the upgrade weekend – but in a limited capacity. Online and mobile banking will be unavailable from the evening (after 4:00 p.m.) of February 26th through March 1, 2021. Please plan ahead to complete any of the actions below prior to 4:00 p.m. on February 26th:
- Log in to check balances and document any payees in Online Bill Pay
- Schedule any necessary payments in Online Bill Pay to be made prior to February 26th
- Complete needed ACH transactions or transfers
- Withdraw needed cash before 4:00 p.m. on February 26th (lower limits on debit cards will be in effect during the upgrade)
Will online banking change?
Yes. In addition to a new look, online banking will feature the following: 1) improved e-Statements and notices, 2) member-to-member transfer capabilities, and 3) secure forms to allow updates to accounts, deductions or communications with Avista Credit Union. Our new account system also makes loans easier – allowing faster mobile loan application, DocuSign® application processing, and automated loan decisions to speed up response time.
Will Bill Pay change?
Yes. For your convenience, we will now be able to offer you real-time Bill Pay processing in both online and mobile banking. Some new features include invoice capture/payment, the ability to post money in real time to a debit card at another institution, and the option to pay a loan or deposit to Avista Credit Union by debit/credit card online.
Will mobile banking change?
Yes. With the upgrade, our new mobile app will have the same look and functions of online banking, including real-time Bill Pay. Mobile banking will also now include a new Remote Check Deposit service – which lets you deposit checks anytime, anywhere using your smartphone (saving you extra trips to the credit union).
Will I need to download a new mobile app?
Yes, you will need to delete our current app by February 27th and download the new, updated app once we go live on March 2nd. The new app will be available on both the Apple® App Store and Google Play™. Your login and password will be the same across all devices.
Will my Avista debit cards change?
Yes. You will receive a new Mastercard® debit card to replace your previous Avista Visa® debit card. This means you will also have a new account number for your debit card. We are making this change to offer enhanced security for your debit card, including a mobile app you can use to manage your transactions and to receive alerts for warding off fraud. You will also enjoy real-time access to your debit card transaction history through online and mobile banking. During the second quarter, digital wallet capabilities (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) will be added to your debit card.
Will my Avista credit cards change?
No. Your Avista credit card number and physical credit card will remain the same. The only difference is that you will be able to add your Avista credit card to the digital wallet in your smartphone (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.). With digital wallet capabilities, you enjoy contactless payments that are easier and more secure than shopping with your physical card.
What other new services will be available?
We will be introducing telephone banking once our upgrade goes live on March 2nd. This convenient, new service will allow you secure, 24/7 access to your accounts and other information by phone.
Will my account suffixes change?
No. If individual members are affected, we will notify those members personally.
Will my username and password change for the new system?
Your login information will change for online banking and mobile banking, but be the same across platforms.
Will my information be secure throughout the upgrade?
Yes, your security is always our top priority, and your account information will remain protected as we complete this upgrade.

Will I still have access to old statements?
No, historical statements cannot be imported into the new system. Please print or download any e-Statements you would like to keep prior to the upgrade.
How will the upgrade impact automatic withdrawals and direct deposits?
All automatic withdrawals and direct deposits should proceed as normal on March 2nd. However, you may notice a minor delay in automatic withdrawals and direct deposits over the weekend of February 27th through March 1st, and you may not be able to access online banking or mobile banking to confirm the transactions.
Can I use ATMs and my Avista debit or credit cards during the upgrade?
The ATM at Mission campus will be unavailable starting February 20th with a new machine coming online March 2nd. However, ATMs in the CO-OP and STAR network and Avista Credit Union cards (debit and credit) will be available during our upgrade. Lower limits may be applied.
What if the upgrade takes longer than expected?
While we do not anticipate any delays in completing the upgrade, we will post updates on this webpage if the upgrade extends beyond the currently scheduled March 2nd completion date. The website should be available throughout the upgrade; however, periodically there may be minor interruptions lasting no more than a couple minutes as updates populate online.Go to main navigation
