Avista Credit Union is now accepting donations to support the family of a fallen Chelan PUD worker.
Last Wednesday, Edward “Eddie” Bromiley, a technician for Chelan PUD’s Central Maintenance Group, died in a workplace accident at Rock Island Dam.
Bromiley was just 40-years-old and leaves behind a wife and two small children; both under the age of 5.
If you’d like to donate funds that will go directly to support the family of Bromiley, you can make donations through a special account setup with the Avista Credit Union. Donations can be made by calling 509-495-2000 (extension 2000 from internal phones) or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org . The company has also offered to match donations and the Credit Union will match the first $500 in funds collected.
On Friday, June 22nd at 11:00 Edward “Eddie” Bromiley was remembered during a memorial service held at the Waterville Fairgrounds in Waterville, Washington. Though there is not a formal count of attendees, it is estimated that over one thousand members of the area community, Chelan County PUD, and regional utility industry came together to remember an employee who lost his life in a tragic accident while on the job. The tremendous turnout demonstrated the deep connection he had made in his community as well as the impact that the loss of a utility employee has on fellow workers.
Shortly after the event Avista established a memorial fund at the Avista Credit Union in Eddie’s name to help his family in this time of need. The account has now been open for a week and many have contributed. We have no doubt that Eddie’s family will be eternally grateful for the generosity.
On Monday, July 2nd we would like to close out this account so that the donations can be made available to his wife and children in a timely manner. If anyone would still like to make a donation, please reach out to the Avista Credit Union either via e-mail, 495-2000, or stop in and they will be happy to assist you.Go to main navigation
